Birmingham, Ala.-based Encompass Health is planning to open a $60 million rehabilitation hospital in Daytona Beach, Fla., the Daytona Beach News-Journal reported June 9.

Encompass will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new facility June 11, with the goal of opening its doors to patients on July 15.

The 56,645-square-foot facility includes 50 private rooms, a four-suite dialysis center, two suites for plus-sized patients and a negative pressure suite. The hospital will initially open with 20 beds and expand to its full capacity within one year, according to Judy Parker, CEO of the new hospital.

“We’re really excited about our state-of-the-art building and facility where we can take care of the community we serve to get our patients back to the lives they’re used to living,” she told the Daytona Beach News Journal.

Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Daytona Beach is among Encompass’s 168 inpatient rehabilitation hospitals across the country and Puerto Rico.
