Giant Eagle is taking over the prescriptions from 78 Rite Aid pharmacies across Pennsylvania and Ohio as Rite Aid shutters locations following its bankruptcy filing, CBS News reported June 6.
The regional grocer and pharmacy chain announced last week it had reached an agreement with Rite Aid to acquire prescriptions from 78 locations. The first wave of 30 stores began transferring customers’ prescriptions in early June with a second wave of 17 additional locations announced June 6.
Customers from affected Rite Aid stores will have their prescriptions automatically transferred to Giant Eagle pharmacies.
