Kansas City, Kan.-based University of Kansas Cancer Center has partnered with the Kansas City (Mo.) Veteran Medical Center to expand access to clinical cancer trials for veterans.
Through the partnership, KU Cancer Center will offer veterans access to early-phase clinical trials by providing financial and logistical support, according to an April 3 news release from the health system.
The cancer center will also serve as a subsite for these trials.
The organizations aim to establish a template for cancer centers and VA hospitals to follow nationwide, to provide “every veteran access to the same research opportunities as civilians,” the release said.
