HealthFirst Opens Centers for Fracture Care, Joint Replacement

HealthFirst opened the doors of two new care centers, the Center for Fracture Care at Melbourne, Fla.-based Holmes Regional Medical Center, and the Center for Joint Replacement at Viera (Fla.) Hospital.

The Center for Fracture Care takes up six of the 47 beds on HRMC’s orthopedics floor. It will provide better access to fracture care for the many elderly patients in Brevard County, according to a news release.

The Center for Joint Replacement is located on the 4th floor of Viera Hospital’s building and has 10 beds with the capacity to expand to 20 beds. It includes an educational program for patients undergoing joint replacement as well as a transitional support program for patients who are recovering from joint replacement at home.
