Mackenzie Health earned Stage 6 on the eight-stage HIMSS Analytics EMR Adoption Model, which measures the degree to which a hospital or health system utilizes its EMR functions. Thirty-two percent of U.S. hospitals and 1 percent of Canadian hospitals have reached this level, which represents the second-highest designation.
Mackenzie Health officials said it is the first Canadian hospital with a full-suite Epic EMR, which it launched in July, and is one of only four Ontario community hospitals to receive this designation to date.
“This designation is a testament to Mackenzie Health’s commitment to creating a world-class health experience and sets a new standard for how care is delivered in our community and at the health system level,” said Richard Tam, executive vice president and chief administrative officer of Mackenzie Health.
