Kettering (Ohio) Health has resumed limited access to MyChart and reinstated all surgeries following a ransomware attack.
The 14-hospital system took IT systems offline and delayed elective procedures after the May 20 hack. All surgeries, including scheduling for elective procedures, are back on as normal, according to a June 9 statement.
Kettering Health is working to restore the MyChart patient portal to its full functionality, but right now patients can view and schedule appointments, order prescription refills, message providers, and review test results. The health system is also “backfilling” patient data in its EHR, so if patients get MyChart texts or emails saying their medical records have been updated those are legitimate.
